THANK YOU!Your assistance has allowed us to go ahead and order the furniture for Sri Sithy Vinayagar, M.V. (school), Batticaloa. More importantly this project put us in a stronger position in terms of attracting other partners to deliver furniture to other schools. We have now had discussions with a major NGO (non-government organisation) and they have agreed to consider the phased funding of 9 more schools within EMACE project areas. They are keen to operate through EMACE as they believe that operating through local structures (e.g. local NGOs) is the most effective way to deliver an appropriate response. They are also considering supporting a vocational training programme in masonry for the affected youths to assist with rebuilding the damaged infrastructure. We'll keep you posted….. We have developed
a new website for EMACE,
detailing where money is spent. There are many more schools that need furniture in other areas. There are a number of ways in which you can continue to support the EMACE projects:· Contribute funds directly to the fund bank account · Organise your own fundraising initiatives and contribute the funds · Consider donating LENT money to the fund · Organise school fund raising event The following school/clubs/organisations have made contributions to the fund already: St.Josephs National School Doneraile, Ballygiblin Hurling Club, Glenroe Community Council, Dromin 45 Drive, Dromcollogher Heritage Centre & the Organic College, St.Annes National School, Charleville, SuperValu, Charleville, Churchtown National School, Colaiste an Chraoibhin Fermoy, Mitchelstown CBS National School, Foroige, Limerick & Limerick County event Colaiste an Chraoibhin raised €1000 just from one 'no uniform day'.
If you have suggestions as to fund raising activities which may be of benefit we would very much appreciate if you could contact
